  • Good Fortune Farm Refuge was started to help animals in need, cats, dogs and horses. On occasion we’ve even rehomed rabbits and other critters in need.

The farm is located in Semmes Alabama and is a non-profit 501 (c) 3 volunteer organization and is funded by grants and donations.

In addition to your donated funds, we also appreciate donations of food, wet or dry, or other animal supplies.

A portion of our budget may be used to assist a limited number of low income families with the care and maintenance of their cats an dogs. This service is provided in an effort to keep people from surrendering their pets to the shelters.

    1. Hi I am an avid reader of Carolyn’s books, have been for years. I live in Mobile and today while walking at medal of honor park, i saw a “stray” dig on the entrance road. several people were trying to get him, but i came home, waited til my husband got home from work and we went to the park and with lunch meat were able to get him on the leash and into the car.
we took him to our vet, wesson animal clinic and he is not chipped. he looks to have some pittie and/or lab in him, beautiful black coat with a white blaze on his chest. he is somewhat trained but we think he’s a young adult and has not been fixed. we are unable to keep him as much as I want to, he is very strong and exuberant and probably weighs about 80 lbs. He does well on the leash, understands no and will chase the tennis ball for my special needs son.
I’m not on facebook and the only thing I could think of was to contact y’all as I know how passionate Carolyn is about rescues from reading her monthly emails.
please let me know what i can do and if y’all can take him. i understand that a donation would be in order as well.
